The number of mobile phone runner companies has reached 29 in 19 Arab states, and the number of subscribers reached by 46 millions rating 3% of mobile phone subscribers in the world, Head of the Arab Group for Mobile Phone Mohammad al- Aqeel said on Tuesday.
Al-Aqeel, speaking at the 29th Conference of Arab Mobile Phones Runner Companies in Damascus, added that the communication sector in the Arab world has increasingly witnessed speed progress during the last years.
Deputy Director of Syrian Communication Establishment Nazem Bahsas, for his part, said the conference is considered an important opportunity to deepen dialogue and propose ideas and conceptions to enhance communications among Arab states.
The 29th Conference of Arab Mobile Phones Runner Companies, organized by Ministry of Communications in cooperation with SYRIATEL, opened deliberations at Le Meridian Hotel in Damascus.
Participants discussed latest achievements of Mobile communication technology and the way of increasing the market share of Arab runner companies taking into consideration promoting the offered service quality.
21 Arab organization and more than 90 senior researchers in addition to a number of representatives of the World Organization of Mobile Phone Runner Companies are taking part at the Conference.
