SHAPING THE FUTURE MOBILE INFORMATION: THE CASE OF MOROCCO
At the beginning of the nineties the Moroccan Government realized the importance of ICTs for social and
economic development and undertook a process of structural transformation, reforming telecommunication
policies and allocating a substantial amount of its budget to improve the progress of ICTs throughout the
country. The objective of this restructuring was to expand telecommunication infrastructure and popularize
the use of communication technologies in the various sectors of the society and economy in Morocco.10
